How was the test performed?

How does Airfree eliminate SARS-CoV-2 from the air?

The purifier used, like all Airfree purifiers, contains a ceramic core which, during operation, can reach 210°C. This is a temperature at which it is difficult for any microorganism, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus, to survive.

The air circulates through the device by natural convection, which occurs due to the difference in temperature between the ceramic core (interior) and the air in the room where the device is located (exterior).

The heated ceramic core is part of the device’s exclusive technology, patented by Airfree and tested multiple times by certified laboratories. Its capacity to destroy all the microorganisms present in the air – including viruses – is thus proven.

Like most viruses, the novel coronavirus is heat-sensitive. Exposure to high temperatures can destroy it, eliminating much of the risk of it circulating in enclosed spaces.  However, it is important to stress that it is not possible to guarantee that all viruses circulating in the air within a room equipped with an Airfree air purifier will be destroyed before they are inhaled.

How does Airfree technology work?
